Browning Buck Mark Rifle Vs. T/C R-55 vs. Marlin 60

Hello Rimfire experts,

I saved up enough $$ to buy a good quality semi-auto 22LR for mostly fun shooting. (Already have a very nice Brno #4 for target work)

I've narrowed down to either Browning buck mark rifle or T/C R-55, because I don't want to tinker with after market parts and stuff, so no 10/22 for me. Price for the two are similiar.

So I'm wondering which is better from your experiences? Any are they really that much better than the Marlin 60 that it's worth the extra $300? Price-wise they are in different classes but Marlin 60 remains America's favorite rimfire rifle...:confused:

Well I have had several semi autos, Including the Buckmark Varmint model. Love this rifle, very accurate just about as good as my CZ 511/ I love the loading system through the pistol grip. Love that the mags from my BM pistol interchange with the rifle. I have a 2-7 Leupold mounted on mine and any gopher inside of 100 yards is in trouble. I shoot the American Eagle 38gr HP ammo.
I have heard good things about the TC but I do not know any one that owns one. The marlin likely a good functioning piece, but I'd be surprised if the accuracy is as good as my HB Varmint. FS
 
I have a Marlin 60 that shoots cheap Winchester bulk ammo into 1.5 inch, 5 shot groups at 100 meters. If you can live with that accuracy, and less than great fit, materials and finish, then you can save 300 bucks.

But each of us derives pleasure from our sport in different ways. I like good 22s because they shoot cheap ammo well and the rifles can be bought cheap.

If you like the look and feel of walnut and steel, then the TC R-55 is a beautiful high-end little semi auto at a reasonable price. For similar money, I'd go for a quality bolt action like a CZ452/453, but I digress, sorry.
 
well i got a buckmark varmint and it shoots jagged one hole 10 shot groups at 50 yards with most ammo optcs are just a cheap 100 dollar bushnell banner in 1.5 to 4.5 but what a nice fitting rifle its like browning custom made it for me for the price and finish and fit go with the browning for sure
 
My vote would go to the Buckmark rifle!

I've had the chance to play with a friend's gun... and it's a whole lot of fun. Really easy to point and shoot...
