Post a link. Never heard of the beast. Browning sells a 1911-22. Buckmark is a completely different line as far as I know.

Sorry, I misheard the guy at the shop.
It is a 1911-22 Browning.
Buckmark is a line of Browning pistols, but none of them look like what I was holding today.

I don't know if it is the a1 or not.

Shhh!, the wife will hear me typing!
It felt good in the hand, .22 is super cheap to shoot. I might just do that, but I was hoping for someone with more experience to tell me its not a piece of junk.

Funny story actually..
So I go to the local gun shop, to oogle all the merchandise. I pointed at something, and told the other half, OOO I would like one of those...
To which she replied NO! Handgun first, then a bed...
Needless to say, the boys in the shop were like wow... wish my wife would say that...
So, of course the sneaky (in a good way) proprietor says, hold on, take a look at this.....
Now I have it on layaway, till I get a few paychecks ahead to scoop it up.
