Hi all, I just got home with my new Browning Buckmark! This is my first pistol, as I wanted to get used to shooting before deciding on a larger caliber.

Anyway, I've read a lot of posts stating that CCI mini-mags are the way to go, at least to break it in. I was just wondering if this was the 36 grain or the 40 grain hyper velocity?

I've been able to find some of the 36 grain online (sparingly), but I didn't want to buy the wrong stuff. Will it be bad to run other ammo through it? I have some remington yellow jackets, and then a bunch of junky federal bulk.

Thanks in advance!

My Buckmark would eat anything I fed it, even when brand-new.

I do prefer American Eagle rounds, as there are some rounds out there that are incredibly filthy (Winchester Wildcat comes to mind). I've never had any trouble with AE rounds in any .22 I've owned.

I, ve had no problems with mine, eats anything I feed it. I have shot the federal bulk through mine since new with no issues, just take it too the range and have fun.

From the very first mag through it, my buck Mark pistol has fed reliably and shot accurately with American Eagle. It does well with CCI mini mags too,but for the cheaper price and better availability, the AE works great in it.

Found a small stash of Federal AutoMatch.
Works really well so far. Well maybe one FTF.

i've yet to see a buck mark that won't eat absolutly anything you feed it. It might have a preference for accuracy, but it should be reliable with any ammo.

Start with CCI Mini-mag, at least 100 rds. Mine prefers Federal Bulk, Fed Automatch, CCI Blazer, Win 222/333/55. Hates Win Wildcat, too many FTEs/FTFs. I have not tried any Remy on this pistol. To improve the trigger pull, google "HEGGIS Flip". Your already decent trigger pull will improve by at least 30%. No cutting, no stoning, and no part/s to replace. Warning: Only for the mechanically capable. Do not try if you are not sure of what you are to do. Safety will be compromised if done incorrectly.

Safe shooting.

Thank you for this. I'm going to wait until I'm more comfortable to try any modifications. I still appreciate the advice though.

I've shot CCI, Federal Bulk and Remington bucket with no issues with any.

As a new owner, you should go take a look at the rimfirecentral/browning forum, where there is some excellent info regarding cleaning, parts, etc.
