Browning buckmark, are they as good as the rugers?

Do a quick search on the internet, guys, you will find accounts of out of battery discharges causing bending or breaking the top strap or blowing out extractors. No, not every one, probably not that often, but you won't find one similar story about a Ruger. Here's a typical story, just using it because of the photo: http://www.dayattherange.com/?p=2779

oh man those Buckmarks are such crap.
i just had a read of that article, 20 year gun that the guy put 15,0000 rounds through and he loved it then he had a failure.
im gonna go sell mine right now, cant believe i purchased just a piece of junk!
[/sarcasm]

on the real side, im pretty impressed by that link.
looks like a ammo fail, but the gun actually held together pretty good.
just the top strap that bent and some internal parts needed replacing.
i think gun is at risk of a failure being as they are mechanical and all things mechanical fail sooner or later.
specially when you add controlled explosions into the mix.

I did say "probably not that often" but I have seen several pictures of similar damage and read many accounts of blowing out the extractor. Pictures I've seen of Buckmarks without the scope rail show much worse damage. You won't find equivalent accounts about the Ruger Mk 1,2,3. But at the end of the day, I'm just giving my advice which is what this site is supposed to be about. You or anyone else is free to spend your money any way you want.

i was just being silly.
wasnt meant to be a hack on ya.

that blow out on the buckmark is the first ive ever heard of that happening.
so id have to agree with you that you wont see that happeing with the ruger are they are a solid billet.

its to bad you couldnt get those nice buckmark URX grips for a ruger.....
