I would appreciate some comments about the Buckmark models on two points; the Truglo fibreoptic front sights and the barrel length.
I own an Ithaca model 37 shotgun with a similar front sight and like it. However handgunning is an entirely different shooting discipline. What are the views out there about these types of front sights compared to the traditional iron front sights?
As regards barrel length, it would seem to me that the 7.25 inch barrel would provide more accuracy than the 5.5 inch barrel all other factors being equal. True statement?

Maybe:

I like my wife's truglow front (that sounds almost suggestive), helps you focus on the front sight.

Length not the only factor - longer sight line good, some find it harder to keep on target (smaller move, larger at the long end) bad, its heavier, some find that easier to handle (not much recoil with .22 though) some get tired good/bad. We ended up with two 5.5 after shooting friend's SW 41 with a 7.5" Mine is the heavy bull barrel (there is slab side bull barrel that is lighter before I get some "as opposed to light bull barrel" comment).

So if clamp it in a vice then 7.5 may be more accurate, maybe you have arm like vice, I have arm like noodle so to me factors other than sight line also matter.

Cheers
