Browning Buckmark problems....

Hey Folks,

I have a Browning Buckmark (Contour Lite 7.25 URX).
I love the gun (and the wife likes it more) but it's misfiring on every tenth round.

From my best guess, it seems that it is ejecting and reloading itself, but not getting all the way back on the cycle and ends up not cocking the internal hammer.

For those out there with a closet full of buckmarks, any suggestions?

Thanks!!

I have a camper that was doing the same thing and I tightened the barrel and the top part that had both become loose a bit over time. It was misfiring some and thats all it took to solve it. Different models but buckmarks have been known to have the screws work loose at times.

Mine do that when they are dirty. Take it apart, clean it, lube it, and put it back together. If that fails, step up to "Stingers", they seem to have more kick and will cycle mine even when they are very dirty.

A few quick questions to help with the diagnoses:

1. How old is the gun?
2. How many rounds has it seen?
3. What ammo were you using when the problem occured/
4. How many rounds have you fired through it since its last good cleaning?
5. How do you typically clean it? And after how many rounds do you usually give it a good cleaning?

How do you find the Stingers for accuracy TPK?

I've had no luck with Stingers in handguns (pistol or revolver) as far as accuracy goes. And I've owned many.....

.22 pistols (I've got two) are definetly sensitive to ammo choice. If you changed the type of ammo or even got a new batch of the same stuff it could be that it's not what you used to have.

The type of oil you use even makes a difference. For a while I was using air tool oil since I've got a bottle of it handy. Not anymore though. I went from a gun that jammed about 8 times on one day to one that didn't jam at all the next day merely by cleaning it and switching oils.

Clean and lube the pistol..... Do a full take down. I also found the top sight rail would come loose occasionally causing it to misfire, especially when really dirty.

I generally go about 1000 rnds in mine before it needs a good cleaning.

Cheers!
