I have a 26" fixed choke Citori and the s/n is ###xx RTJ53... I looked on the browning website and I found the date of manufacture to be 1976 but there is no listing for J53 model. Can someone help?

"I deciphered the Citori I just purchased using the "Date Your Gun" section at the Browning website. Look under the "Services" section.

I could figure mine out to year, but not model of Citori. The "J53" suffix was not at Browning's site. One call to Browning and I found out what I suspected. A 3" chamber Hunter (field) model.

Happy Hunting"

I hope this helps you. I'm going to add this to my serialization chart. I'm willing to believe it without calling Browning.

Excellent, thank you fine sir.

I have an RTJ53 as well; Barrels 30", 3" chamber, simple grade 1 hunter model with long tang. Nice shotgun.

Anybody have any recommendations on having the fixed full choke reamed to I/C in Ontario? So far I have seen that Epps does the work.
