what does everyone think of these little 22s? How reliable and accurate are they? I am thinking about picking one up. It looks like it would be great to carry. does anyone know for one cheap or have one for sale? if you do pm me
 
Grab it!

Light, handy, more accurate than most can shoot, eminently useful as a grouse gun. Great for lefties, takes down small.

In general, a class act!

Shot one a lot as a kid, so I am a bit biased. About the only sorta bad thing I have to say is that it takes a few seconds to reload. Meh. Amd the scope mounts to the barrel, so it's a little bulkier if you mount a scope, and still want to take it down for transport or storage.

For a beater grade gun, look at the Norc copy of the Browning, it's a pretty decent deal if you can find one.

I just picked one up on the EE , priced right, had one years and years ago.
Trevj, the scope mount on most I have seen is a 3/8" dove tail on the receiver , I have never shot one with with a scope mounted, so don't know good it is a holding zero after a take down.
They are a very well built gun and unlike some new guns , they always seem to work, thou I have only tested fired the latest one .

I have one. Shoots pretty good for an old semi. The fore end is very slim. Lacks the bells and whistle of the later Jap manufactured ones. Still nice none the less. Got mine for 120 or so a few years back.
 
I have two. A little, older one in .22 short, and a more modern one in .22lr that I rebuilt and restocked.
They are dandy, classic .22 rifles.
 
Great little gun. Mine has the reciever dovetail as well. Came with a scope when I bought it used for $200 at a gun show about 10 years ago. Terrible patterns until I took the scope off and just used the irons. Not sure if it's just MY gun or not, but there's some play between the barrel and the reciever so a scope's not an option for me, but at 25yrds from a bench rest I can shoot within 1" every time.

I think it's your gun. My Belgium one has no play what-so-ever.
