Anyone know the difference between the Gold Stalker and the Gold Hunter.

Year of manuf of gun is 2002 I believe.

I have looked online but can't find the difference.

The gun is black synthetic.

Gold Hunter models have wood and polished blue for a finish and the Stalker has synthetic and a matte finish. That's it!

Yep but he said both are black syn. That is why I asked an the receiver finish. someone may have added a stock set. Also didnot some not have the speed loading feature or was that just the 12ga 3 1/2. I get them mixed up. I know my 10's don't one is a 93 stalker and the other a 99?? 1st design shadow grass camo
Some junk to read which pretty much confirms no black syn on a hunter new

I wouldn't say it's matte like an 870 Express, but it isnt high gloss. Looks like low gloss alloy receiver.

Date code M Y....2002 I think.

No he didn't! He just said "the gun is black and synthetic" LOL! No worries...just messing with ya a little!

I don't ever recall seeing a Gold 10 with the Speed Loading feature. The Gold 10 was basically a "improved", beefed up and simplified version of the Winchester Super-X Model 1 shotgun. Rumour has it that the SX1 blue prints and patents are the only reason the, at the time, owners of Browning scooped up Winchester when they were in financial hell. The original Gold 10 had a steel receiver which was replaced by the current aluminium receiver Gold Light 10 in 2000-2001?!?! The speed loading feature appeared on the Gold 12 & Gold 20 in 1994, when they were introduced to market. The 12 gauge Gold 3.5" guns had a magazine cut-off that wasn't available on most other Gold versions.

Edit: I had a 1996 built Gold 10 Hunter with a 30" barrel...one gun I wish I had never sold! I'll find another one, one day!

Yep you are right sorry. On the super x1 my 1993 is indeed the closest gun I have ever seen to a superx1 design and sure works as nice. That is from memory since god knows where I could find a xintage x1 to compare it to side by side. Know of any???
Back when they came out it was indeed stated they used the superx1 design as a base for the 10ga gold
My 10ga's have the cut off for sure and I just get mixed up on the speed load since I have/ had 12 ga 3 1/2 golds also that are twins of the 10 including finish and get them confused until I shoulder them. Then you know the 10 ga LOL
