Browning Gold-Golden Clays

Bought the Sporting Clays Gold as a christmas present for the wife...Looks and shoots great, she just won her first Meat shoot match at the club with it.
Many offers to buy it, ( I keep teasing her by saying I am trading it for an AR, and she was getting nervous until the transfer into her own name came through. Now she feels better knowing it is not registered in my name anymore)
She loves it.
so, is that the same gun just without the engraving?

I was thinking of eventually getting into the same sport, however I was under the impression that an over-under was the way to go?

The o/u guns are very popular and rightly so, but for sure they are not the only way to go. Auto loaders are affordable, reliable, comfortable to shoot and are the choice of many top ranked shooters. Drop into a few sporting matches and see for yourself.:D

Even though I love my 391s I think that the Browning Gold is a fine choice.

Fired a few in it just to make it go bang this afternoon, only had 7/8oz and 1oz to try. Going to shoot some targets with it tomorrow, hopefully.

Be sure to give a report. Hope she went bang everytime today!! Also, heard a rumor you really did well with the wood. ;)

FS; how did it go with the shotgun!?

Well it is always exciting taking a brand new shotgun out to shoot some sporting clays.
I had heard that it is usually best to break in an auto with some heavy 1 1/8oz loads, so that what were the first 50 shells were.
After that I shot a wide variety of ammo, 1oz and 24gram International, all shot and cycled well. This gun swings and points very nicely for me, but I need to add some length as I'm 6' 5" tall.
I thought the 30 inch barrel might take some getting used to but I had no trouble breaking a variety of targets. I was in such a hurry to get out and shoot it I forgot to bring the extra chokes so shot at all the birds with the mod choke.
Right now I have a nice coat of the Howard Feed-N-Wax on the very nice wood that came on this shotgun. Wipe off the excess in the morning and buff the wax.
These guns seem to be a great buy at $1499 and if you were to get a Beretta of a benelli brand new, of course they are quite a few hundred dollars more, plus the porting helps some on fast following shots on true pairs. FS
