Hey;
Have a Browning Gold Light 10, new in case still.
Cleaned and ready to go.
Has had 1 day to field for a goose hunt, but still unfired....
Thinking of trying some patterning for turkey duty.

Turkey load shells, near impossible to find, in On.
Have a few boxes of goose loads.

Truelock turkey choke and some Federal Grand slam, 2 oz #5s, coming tomorrow, from Que.

Federal Premium Grand Slam 10 ga. 3 1/2'' 2oz #5 Shotshells

- Caliber: 10 ga.
- Shot Size: #5
- Muzzle Velocity: 1200
- Shotshell Length: 3 1/2'' / 89 mm
- Bullet Style: Grand Slam
- Type: Lead
- Shot Charge: 2 oz
- Package Quantity: 10
- Usage: Turkey

Extend the range and enhance the lethality of lead turkey payloads with Federal Premium® Grand Slam®.
Its FLITECONTROL FLEX™ wad system works in both standard and ported turkey chokes, opening from
the rear for a controlled release of the payload and extremely consistent patterns.
The high-quality copper-plated lead pellets are cushioned with an advanced buffering compound
to provide dense patterns and ample energy to crush gobblers.

Anyone have any fun/luck, with this setup?

I haven’t used that exact setup but close. Just do it. Highly unlikely you’ll be disappointed. My bps 10 pattered exceptionally well with any turkey load I tried. It was just a bit heavy for my run n gun hunting style back then.

I used a 10 for a while but it’s almost an unfair advantage! I had a CompNchoke for turkey and with Federal Premium 2 1/4 oz #6 the patterns were impressive and extended the range way out there! I can’t imagine what it would do with TSS. I seen 3 1/2” 12 gauge TSS turkey shells in a box of five at $99.00 plus tax. At over $20 a pop that’s gonna get rich real quick

i have shot few with a SP10. It will kill em further than I will ever shoot.

This is a bird my buddy took with my SP10.

That ammo does well in both my 10s. I dont have the gold but I have a bps and a sxs
The 10 will be nicer to shoot than a 12 using equal payload. The bigger bore of the 10 generally throws a better pattern than a 12 throwing the same weight. Especially when the shot size gets bigger
Only downside to a 10 is the weight of the gun carrying it
Im in the real south west ontario and 10ga turkey loads are fairly common however the prices are creeping up faster than 12ga of the same brands
