Browning GTI Red Label

Looking at a gun in the EE. Shouldn’t this gun have a blue / black receiver and more pronounced red lettering? Looks like the receiver was scrubbed of the finish and deleted the red highlights as well. Was listed as mint condition now good.

You are correct, noticed this myself on the EE, seems to be a few guns lately with made up fancy names. Should be a blue/black receiver as OP mentioned, and while the Gti was available for a short time with red lettering, it was never called a ‘Red Label’, that would be a Ruger OU. It was most commonly available with gold lettering however. The 1989 Browning catalog shows the ‘new’ GTi with red lettering, whereas the 1990 catalog shows the once again ‘new’ GTi with gold lettering. Nowhere could i find a GTi with a silver receiver though.

The one I owned had a blued receiver and trigger guard with red lettering. This one shows a poor refinishing job on the wood too.

I have seen examples of both the red and gold lettered GTi and both were polished blued receiver . Its hard to tell from the pic but the red does not appear to be of the right shade either .

I had a buddy that had both, one with red lettering and one with gold. Never saw or heard of one in a grey or silver receiver. Looks like another bubba gun!

I'm with everyone else so far, I've never seen one that wasn't blued. At any rate, that gun in the pic is definitely not "mint"!!!!!!

Perhaps a little Bonanza Gold Inlay? A little dab will do it.
