I recently purchased a beautiful condition C series Hi Power in the EE section and have a question I hope experienced owner/collectors can help me out with.
The barrel on this gun extends out beyond the slide and I’m wondering if anyone else has come across an example of this?
I know a picture would obviously help but I’m still new to this and unsure how to post even with instructions but I’ll try and post at a later date if I get no replies.
Just to be clear I’m aware of the barrel bushings if this era known as the hognose bushings that extended out and were reportedly designed to protect the barrel crown but this is definitely the barrel and not the bushing.
I’ve looked at every picture I could find online for another example of a factory barrel like this but they were all flush with the slide and I’m wondering if I got some unique variation I can’t find anything about or paid a lot of money for a quality control lemon I’m going to have to rebarrel ?

Thanks in advance for your help .

most BHP barrels "project" proud of the slide bushing.

As you have noted there was a short period of time during FN production where the bushing was extra long.

you are worrying about a non issue.

On mine the bushing is proud of the barrel. Not by much, but some. 1985 high gloss Belgium made BHP with spur hammer.
