Hi all I have a very nice t series hi power. It has had aftermarket sights put on it. Specifically a trijicon front sight that has been dovetailed into the slide.
My problem is that the sight shifts to the right under recoil. Either the sight is undersized or the dovetail is oversized, prob the dovetail. Anyway I want to repair this without munging up the finish of the pistol.

I have thought about either lightly preening the edge of the dovetail, don't really wanna do this if I can help it or using a loctite product like retaining compound and pushing the sight to the centre. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thanks YC

Peen it or try using a shim. There a Crappy Tire in the cloud of MOSQUITOS? They sell brass shims. So does most every hardware store.
I'd suggest epoxy, but that'd be permanent and you'd have to get the sight centred right fairly fast. Epoxy starts to cure in about 15 minutes.

Loctite make a sealant for 'loose' bearing races that would probably work... try finding a shop who would give you a drop rather than buy a $40 bottle.
