I just had the pleasure of buying a nice Browning Commercial Hi Power, and I'm interested in having the Magazine Disconnect removed to improve the trigger feel. Is there someone in Canada (Preferably Alberta) who could do this, and does anyone have a solid idea on pricing?

Thanks (And thanks to FNC1 for the great pistol), now for the picture:

Do it yourself, it is easy. The process is described on at least a couple of sites on the net someplace, just seach google for it. Failing that I or someone on here could tell you ;) You just need a hammer and correct size punch to do it along with some limited mechanical aptitude.

Limited mechanical aptitude I have, but I'm pretty hesitant to work on my own pistol, mostly because I don't want to damage the finish. I'll take a look though, and see if it's within my capabilities.

It's easy to do. Your mags will fall out freely, and it improves the trigger pull. Just hang on to the parts, in case you need to retrofit them, for resale down the road. Not that I recommend removing a safety device....

Field strip, pop out the wee pin in the trigger from the right, as I recall, with a suitably sized punch(On the outside. No need to remove the trigger) and pull out the disconnect plunger from the back of the trigger. Done. No big deal.
Mind you, some commercial versions have pins that seem to be welded in. They're not, they just seem that way. Mostly roll pins, I think.
"...removing a safety device..." The only reason it's there is because the guy who finished the design was Belgian and FN refused to build them without it. J.M. didn't have it in the original design.
