Is there any difference beside esthetics? What is the finish like on a MkIII?

I am looking for another BHP and I was thinking of a MkIII this time around, but I do like the bluing on the Standard model.

Someone give me a push in either direction. Pics of your MKIII would be nice too.

Here's what I think of all your advice. Thanks ellwoodepps!

BHP finish

I had a standard model and the polished blue finish was to say the least, outstanding. Coupled with the wood grips the gun was beautiful. The matte finish of the MKIII makes it look like a no nonsense duty gun, which is a compliment. I"ve also read that the matte finish seems to wear better. Both look great, their Brownings

MKIII's has a two-layer finish - epoxy polymer on top of parkerizing. It's a fairly tough finish and is vastly superior to bluing in terms of wear characteristics and corrosion resistance. It has a semi-gloss appearance which, although not quite as pretty as brightly polished blue, is not bad looking either.

Is It Just Me..?

Is it just me or do others find that MKII BHPs shoot more accurately than the MKIII versions? I admit to owning four BHPs but I do the bulk of my High-Power shooting with my FN/FM High-Power known as 'the Bastard." Regards, Richard:D

call me ignorant...but is the BHP you ended up buying a standard or MkIII? I can't tell from the pictures...

Hi

I own 2 Mk3s in 9mm. While the standard blue finish is nice, the finish on the Mk3 stands up better to wear and sweat. And I don't see the need for adjustable sights. Tap in the fixed sights if they happen to be off, and you will never have to worry about the sights again. Also the grips will be smaller on a Mk3 then the standard BHP.
