Browning High Power 9mm FN. Okay now I purchased this Browning and Pictures

Hello, I am going to look at a FN Browning and would like a ball park value on them. I will hopefully have pictures up tomorrow. The old guy is asking $850 which to me sounds steep. Thank you.
I liked the guy that was selling this pistol plus we got on well, he said it had about 200 rounds through it since he purchased it in new in 1984. Serial number includes PM, which means DOB was 1980. Comes with the pouch manual and bill of sale. I also could not remember when, or if I had ever seen a hard chromed high power,so I jumped on it.

Depends on the Hi Power - $850 isn't bad for a mint T series with minimal round count, or a recent Hi Power with low rounds - it's all about condition, if on the other hand it's a worn out mid '90's MkIII (a run of the mill gun with high round count in poor condition) it might not be much of a deal.

Very nice looking HP - looks brand new, and the hard chrome is quite unusual. Is this a pre "assembled in Portugal" gun? Either way, she's a beauty and $850 is more than fair. Keep in mind you'd pay close to $1100 for a blued one.

Hello, yes I believe it is a pre assembled in Portugal HP. I did quite a bit better than the asking price. I am really happy with my first HP. Is it a MKII or a MKIII with a 1980 DOB?

It's a MKI, MKII's have an ambi safety. It should have been manufactured in Belgium.

Very classy piece. Well done. I just noticed it has the step machined in the muzzle - very nice indeed.

You can get a Hi-Power in nice condition for a couple hundred less if you are patient and I wouldn't buy that one at all because I don't like it, but if you do, I think the condition and the uncommon variant justify $850.

I was lucky with the price of my blued/walnut assembled-in-Portugal example which is in very nice condition, but I'd have gladly paid a higher price if I could, to have what I wanted sooner.

Hello All, I believe it is nickel plated hard chrome. I was also glad to hear it is a mkI. I cannot wait for the RCMP to allow me to pick it up. Here are the pictures again as they seem to have expired.
