If it's the spur type hammer, it can be ground down a bit to stop biting. Just enough to remove about 2-3 of the serrations...
 
I just installed a C&S no bite hammer and sear kit in my HP, great kit and gets rid of the hammer bit. Is does require some fitting and stoning of the sear. I bought it from Brownell's.

How was the trigger after you installed the C&S parts?
 
The lack of a "beavertail" really hurts the lines of the high power to my eyes..... it's much more balanced looking like this,
