I was just looking at one of these the other day online , whats the grip like ? to give you an idea i use the large grip pad on my m&p so that gives you an idea of how big my hand is .

I love the thing as well. Shoot it with work all though the reserves pistols are old they are still great pistols. The mags is what kills the gun if the lips stretch you will get mad amounts of stoppages. My dad has the mark 4 (which i shoot as well) and reserves still use the mark 1. They both are the same quality one just older and more used. All i can say is load mags front to back and you will love her forever! Nice looking gun and like the grip she wears too.

Congrats may many range days be yours.

Love HP's....

I have a T-series HP my father bought new in the '70s. Its mint with low round count.
The only mod I have done was replace the thin wood panels with a set of Pachmayr signature grips.

This is one piece I'll be keeping and eventually handing it down to my son.

Browning's Greatest

They say the HiPower was the gun John Browning designed to address the "shortcomings" of the 1911. Whatever the view no doubt it is an awesome design: ergonomically sound before the term was vogue, classic styling, compact design. I have had mind for 18 years and it is the gun I shoot the most and enjoy the most.
Like that other great Browning design, the 1911, no collection of handguns is complete without it.

I love my 75th anniversary HP, such a tight and well fitted pistol. The grip style is the most comfortable I have ever held and it just shoots so darn accurately. Only things I did to mine was to tweak the sear spring a bit to lighten up the trigger pull significantly, and to put an undercut in the hammer to negate hammer bite. Just about perfect now.

Have 2 Hp's. One adjustable sight, one fixed. Both have had mag safety removed to improve trigger.
Pachmayr grips on both.
Best "feel" of any self loader.
Very pleased with accuracy and reliability of both.
Ancient military ones STILL shot acceptably too!
Can't do any better.

Personnaly I prefer the fixed sights Hi-Power model for an aestethic look. But I must admit that since they started to mill the slide to integrate the rear sight on newer models they finally look great. I had 3 Hi-Power in the past, one of them was a factory nickel plated with F/S. Great shooters.

I thought the main part of the design brief was to come up with a design as good as the 1911, without infringing on the patents that Colt owned.
