Got a friend looking for a deactivated Browning M2 [to mount on his jeep! ~ yea - I know!!]

any ideas what kind of price tag I should tell him to prepare for and ANY idea where to find one north of the border?

-thanks

Surf the surplus category in the EE is a good start. Also check out candiancollectors.com, I think they may actually have one right now.
From what I've seen a deactiveated M2 is more $$ than a functional, lol. probably be looking at 5k anyway.

tried that link, http://www.canadiancollectors.com/ ... points to a domain squatter - do you have a correct link?

yea, I told him I see deactivated Brens go for north of $1500... & at least double for an M2 ...

I scan EE daily, have not seen an M2 come up - though I never did actually look ;)

They seem to be all over Europe for between 2000 pounds to 3500 euros ... depending on the country ... shipping must be a beast!

If you are willing to pay, they are available in Canada. If you want a deal or are thinking of importing a deact M2 from Europe, forget it. That train has long left the station like back in the 90's.

haha - I don't think it's reasonable for anyone to expect to find a deal on something like that, you don't see them in yard sales do you ... he'd have to pry it away from a collector or something.

Pretty much. And most collectors are not willing to let go because once the beast is gone, it is irreplaceable.

Browning 50's are priced by what comes with it. Tripod, T&E, spares and how it was deactivated. Colt's have a value over other makes.
