I was thinking of retiring my 870 pump and replacing with browning maxus
until i shot one at our club ... the trigger pull on the maxus was so BAD ! compared
to my 870...so that swore me off the maxus
Have Beretta 391 Urika that have used only for sporting clays/skeet but now am thinking
of waterfowling with it also. Does anybody have any experience doing that?

I have used a Beretta al391 for both clays and birds, great shotgun for both. Only thing I didn’t like about it was that it was a pain to clean the gas system properly. I have a Maxus now that I use for waterfowl and it’s also a great shotgun and has a much less complex gas system compared to the 391. I agree the Maxus tigger isn’t the greatest but I don’t really notice it while shooting it. Bottom line they both work, ones just easier to clean then the other.

They are both great guns. As has been said many times before, pick the one that fits you the best. As they are quite different in fir, one will fit far better than the other. I had a Urika 391 Gold and a Urika II and both are great guns, but Brownings fit me far better. Also, my Maxus had an excellent trigger pull as does my Silver Hunter and Gold Hunter. All great guns as well. Good luck!

A 391 Sporter makes a great waterfowl gun. And if you shoot Sporting with it you should be successful in the field.

I have a maxus and love it. Honestly I don't notice shotgun triggers. I slap it and it goes off. Unless you plan on shooting slugs a nice crisp light trigger will not make a difference as long you are shooting properly. Between my maxus, cooey, 870, and citori I can't tell you which one has the nicest trigger.
