Browning Maxus and Brenneke Slug Performance

Hi folks,

Does anyone have any first had experience of the Browning Maxus and "Brenneke" type rifled slug accuracy with them?

I have read some reports that say the Maxus's larger bore barrel is not good for them but I'd welcome first hand experience.

no comment on the brenneke slugs but fosters shoot just fine. I have read the same thing about the fosters as well. I think its a load of crap myself.

My a400 with a 18.6 bore isnt that great with brenneke style slugs. I get about 8" group at 50 yards. Not sure the maxus's bore and how it compares to the a400. Could have just been me having a bad day i only fired 10 slugs.

Does your Browning Maxus have a removable choke?

Not a Maxus but I use a Winchester SXP, 24" bbl with a Carlson Rifled Choke. Barrels are similar to Browning ie Invector Plus. I can get baseball sized groups at 50 yards with a 1x4 scope shooting standing. Probably could do a bit better if the trigger wasn't so heavy and if I didn't flinch

1.5-2 inch groups with a 28 inch barrel IC choke with the beads off a lead sled. Had the exact same accuracy with the SX3 as well.

Brennekes work fine from my 37 Deerslayer smoothbore. 50yards all touching.

Same here with both exact items. About 8-9 inches drop at 100 from point of aim.
