Looking to buy a new 12ga for goose and ducks and looking for input...
Browning Maxus or Benelli

I'm not looking for reader opinions, I'm looking for guys and gals that have hands on experience,own/shot or shoot...

Thanks,Paul

Have shot a hand full of shells out a vince.I own two 3" Maxus .don't care much for the step rib on the benelli . The benelli in inerta driven and the browning gas . So the Maxus has a softer recoil .I don't shoot 3.5" in any gun so no opinion on those .

I own a 3.5" maxus. I had shot Rembolt's maxus, and a few intertia guns. Prefer the gas, a bit softer as already stated. I don't often shoot 3.5", but when you are in a blind it is nice to know that you are not limited to 3", if say you forget to bring enough shells and all your hunting partners shoot 3.5". Makes for a long day of bird watching, or retrieving your mates birds.

For me, I'd go with the Maxus all day every day. I prefer a gas autoloader over the inertia driven platforms. Also doesnt hurt that Brownings fit me really well. I would suggest getting the gun that fits you the best. Both Browning and Benelli make good shotguns, so the better one is the one that fits you best

I own a super black eagle 2 and have had zero issues with it. Fired everything from light skeet loads to 3.5 inch black cloud. Only one stovepipe and it was because i didnt have the gun shouldered. I was firing a shot to make noise to scare birds out of a barn and just held the gun out in front of me pointing in the air. Other then that. No problems. It is easy to disassemble and clean.

Reason i compare the SBE2 to this question is that it is the same operating system as the vinci. I use to own a Remington 1100 and the O rings put me off wanting another gas operated shotgun... seemed like i was constantly looking for more O rings.

Hope this helps.

I have a Super Vinchi and absolutely love it. The reason I chose it other than the fact of how good it fits me is how easy it disassemble's and cleans. The inertia system does have a little more recoil than a gas system but I don't mind its simplicity in real dirty or muddy hunting conditions. They are a tuff gun.

I have had both and now i shoot the Super Vinci. Never had an issue with the Maxus and I thought it was a great gun with the grip stock. I prefer the Super Vinci bc of ease of cleaning and most importantly the fit. The raised rib is one of my favourite features and I have had zero issues with this one as well including target loads. It is a bit more pricey but both are very good quality. Pick the one that fits best and is on sale lol.

Maxus for me.

Owned many semi including SBE 2 but after shooting my wife's Maxus sold everything and still have 2 Maxus in the safe.

To each of their own I found the 26" Maxus balance much better than the 28" model and the best shotgun is the shotgun that fits you.

Although the inertia guns appears less maintenance but they still can jam when in extreme cold weather while the Maxus keeps running.

I rarely cleans it until the end of the season or unless it get wet and I normally shoot 2 to 3 flats of shells each season ( hunt mainly waterfowl 3 to 4 times a week ).

Another good candidate will be the SX3 essentially the same gun as Maxus except less bells and whistles.

I have shot several rounds of trap and skeet with a Maxus, and one round with a Vinci. I preferred the Maxus full length rib better, and and found that even with target loads it felt softer. I also shot skeet with an A400, a SBE2, and a couple of SX-3s. The A400 was the softest shooting, but I shot the SX-3 best, so that was the one that I kept as a waterfowl gun.

Hey Guys & Gals,
Thanks for the feedback. Info is what I was asking for and that's why I'm a part of this community... We all help each other...
I ended up buying one of each about a month ago... I will use both and post my personal opinion in a few months...

Thanks Paul
