x2 I am in the same boat. Just picked one up, shot it for pattern and thats it. Seems to work great , fits like a glove, light weight.........no complaints.
Bought a 3" hunter model 26" bbl and am very happy with it. Fits me extremely well, cycles everything and is a fast, agile, accurate shooter. Build quality is top notch and you can tell that a lot of thought went into the design. Easy to take down and clean.
I wasnt fussy about the typical Browning clear coat finish so I stripped it off and gave it an oil finish. This really suits the gun and imho is a big improvement.
I also splurged for a slug bbl. It will cloverleaf Hornady SST slugs at 50yds-damn impressive!

I bought the same. Do you have any pictures of the new finish? I'm not 100% on the gloss either.
Have put a few hundred rounds of target shells through my new Hunter,love it so far. It is a VERY easy shotgun to take down and clean.Comes apart in about 8 pieces,very nice fit and finish too. I like the gloss on mine. My sporting clays scores have got better with this gun.
I didnt buy the maxus because of the job they had on the choke and the loose fore-arms,left the gun store with a SX3.As the guys pointed out there are guns that are ok,down here also,this is what I saw,and doesnt represent thousands of Maxus shotguns.The gun has a nice barrel,throws very good patterns,from what the owners say,I have no doubts about that.It has a very good job at the forceing cone,from what I saw.
Picked up a Maxus Carbon Fibre Sporting and very happy with it. Easy to custom fit with the stock spacers and a quick swinging soft shooting gun. No problems with a loose forend as mentioned above although I did notice a little play in a wood stock version that I looked at prior to buying mine.
Can be easily a double duty gun for both Sporting and field if desired.

I picked up a 3" Maxus stalker 28" bbl this summer as an all around, do anything, rainy day, steel shot capable lender gun etc, etc, etc.
4 flats of Top Gun 1 1/8 1200 fps thru it so far at 5-stand Skeet and Sporting with no issues and it cycles my 1 oz 1150 fps reloads just fine too.
I have no complaints other than being a southpaw, the odd empty hits my right forearm on occasion.
I'd like to see that Super too as I am down to 3, but Rem3200, yer too far away from Mb to take a quick gander and that dohickey on the butt, well... But 28" bbls bored Skt /Skt !!!

No issues with light loads in my Carbon Sporting and gobbles them all up without a burp.
As for that Superposed. I'm the VP of the Lunenburg club so anybody wants to give it a spin send me a PM and drop by the club.

That " dohickey " known as a Morgan Pad is actually very nice to use and allows a lot of adjustment for personal fit. Your apparently to young to appreciate fixed choked guns for their designed purpose - breaking clays.

I didn't in any way mean to cause you offense Rem3200, quite the opposite. I am a huge fan of the Superposed hence I do own 3 per my statement.
While I did remark on the dohicky( morgan pad) it was meant in jest as it is non- original but the exclamation marks after the bbl length and choking was meaning I like that combo.
I'm not too young to appreciate my favorite Superposed lightning skt/skt produced in 1959(same year as me) that I have owned for 20 odd years. Other than my Sporting gun and now the Maxus, the plethora of shotguns I have owned were all fixed choke like the 80% of the ones I retain.
As your insult to my age and my appreciation/knowledge of choking in shotguns, was public, I respond in kind.
However, I do believe you may have reacted in what you thought was my slighting you and I trust with this explaination we may not become enemies but friends.

I dont mean to hijack this thread but here is a crummy pic as per your request.
fyi, once finish is removed you will see that a coat of stain was applied to stock by Browning. A light sanding brings out the natural wood. Mine has low grade walnut - I've seem some recent ones at the dealer with much better.
