Hey all hoping to get an answer for a question i have about this takedown .22.

How does the locking ring (i think thats the correct name for it) stay in place when the rifle is in the takedown position? What keeps it from sliding off and throwing the adjustment plunger and spring across the room?

It seems like there should be something to keep it firmly in place so it doesnt fall off in a pack while walking around.

This is the part im talking about

On mine, the forearm squeezes it in place. Tight enough for it not to move but not overly tight so the barrel can still be adjusted.

I let a friends brother borrow a brand new JW-20. He kindly returned it with all the little bits missing from the locking ring, and the front sight missing. So it doesn't work fine.
My gun lending days are over.

Just google browning sa 22 parts and check all images. I bought 1 for $80 and fixed it. Just don't remember since its at my lake house, but boy that norinco is deadly accurate. Want to sell it?
