I just picked up a new browning sa 22 for a price i just couldnt walk away from. these old eyes arent what they used to be so iam looking to put a scope on it.
iam thinking about the Leopold mount, that way i can leave the rear sight in place.
With the mount and scope attached to the barrel, will i need a scope with an extended eye relief
Any thoughts would be appreciated

I would avoid any mount that covers receiver if you plan on taking it down. Grabbing onto butt stock will crack it. That style of mount prevents you from grabbing receiver.

If it is taken down a lot, than O.K., but most of these are just shot with the receiver mount , I don't remember a crack stock other than one that was on a quad.
I have taken a few down with scopes mounted, just grab the bottom and sides if the frame.
I can see where a barrel mount would be nice , if done right.

I’ve got the barrel mount. It’s easy to break down the gun and you keep the accuracy. You have a few more choices for eye relief with the forward mount
