Browning scopes

Has anyone had any experience with the quality of these scopes. Browning probably had a major manufacter make them. Does anyone know who it might be ? In other words are they worth the price or can you buy the same cheaper ?

Bushnell makes them, and yes you pay more for the "Browning" name.

Actually I don't think Bushnell makes them. I talk with the Bushnell Reps that were at the sportsman show and they mention that they (Bushnell) doesn't actually make them but they're only the Distributors, but I'm guessing there's a relationship in manufacturing somewhere down the line.

How about made in the same factory? Just compare their line-ups and you'll see the same thing but maybe with minor cosmetic differences.
 
The Browning scopes are manufactured and distributed by Bushnell. You have to realize that all of Bushnell scopes including Tasco are made for them in various optic plants in the Orient including Japan, The Phillipeens, Korea and China. The name Browning is a licensed name exactly like Bausch & Laumb was used until the agreement ran out. The quality fit somewhere between the 3200 and 4200 Elites and they have a coating (similar if not exactly)like the Rainguerd on the Elites. The Browning name sells a little better in the USA but are still decent sellers and high quality optics.
 
I purchased a 3x9x40 Browning scope about a year ago from Russel Sports. I never opened it till I got home a week later, then mounted it on my Browning A-bolt.Then I let it sit till the weather broke and I could get to the range.After firing a few rounds,I felt something wasn't right but couldn't put my finger on it. After some comparing to other scopes, I found the optics very clear at the center of the scope,and as you looked off to the edges of your field of view, it got blurry.I showed it to a few other fellow CGNers here in Cold Lake and they confirmed my findings. As I had mounted it I phoned Bushnell and they said to send it in .They replaced it with another,same thing.They replaced it again, again the same thing.This took place over 4 months.,So, pi_ _ed off, I phoned Russels and explained what was going on as I had bought it from them.They gave me a full credit towards another scope of equal or greater value!! I now have a Leupold VX11 3-9x40 on that rifle. I can't say enough good about Russel's Sports, Browning Riflescopes?? You couldn't GIVE me one!!! My 2 cents.....Ken
