Browning Silver Hunter

I have shot one, very nice
I sold one a month ago, it was very nice looking. 3.5" chamber is a nice option to shoot any load you can. If you're in the market for a new semi in that price range you may want to wait and check out the new for 2009 Browning Maxxus
My friend just bought one over the Christmas Holidays. I have yet to shoot or see it, both times he went out with it I couldn't go, but I heard that it is very nice. He's had no issues with it. He has had a hard time aiming with it and I know he's a guy who can hit 9/10 skeets all day long, so I guess he just has to get used to the rib since up until now we have just had beads on our other ones

I have one, use it for geese and trap.
Some selling points for me
- it FIT me (very important) i have a long turkey neck and long arms the semi hump on the silver hunter accommodate this
- after lots of reading, there are only 2 semis that the boys in Alaska recomend for tough weather hunting: the Win SX3 and it's successor, the silver hunter.
- ease of takedown/cleaning. best i have seen. very few parts, one pin to drop the trigger group.
- front ejection ports; most of the gas and gunk go through port on the top of the forearm rather than through the receiver. the silver hunter stays way cleaner than my beretta, the difference is noticeable.
- it will handle all varieties of loads. but then again i got the 3" chamber rather than the 3.5" to increase the load range capability.
- they are pretty light, can carry a long way
my only complaint is the silver receiver - nice and bright- just what you don't want for some birds dropping in.
i use the special Carlson "black cloud extended choke tube" and black cloud ammo and i have knocked down birds at 55 yards. i know cause i cheated once and popped one on the ground just to see, then i paced it off. i have always had a bad time with steel shot but this combo has fixed it.
Get one! All my other shotguns just sit around now because of the silver hunter. Have fun................

Not much different in function than a Gold Hunter. Look up the Gold Hunters as well.

Winchester SX3 is practically the same gun, I have had it for 2 duck seasons now and have downed a lot of birds. Also shoot trap with it. It's a good gun 
I used mine for 2 years hunting and target, approximately 3-4000rds. Mine is a 3' model, 30" tube.
Never had a problem except for the winny target loads. (no auto I know of would shoot them either).
Good - excellent pattern with most loads.
Fits me very well, but had to get the stock cut down for my stumpy body.
Easy to clean as mentioned.
Silver receiver had not spooked any birds that I know of. My buddy also shoots a 391 with a silver receiver, we don't think it matters.

i have one bought it last year its duck blind camo 3.5 inch! real nice gun!!worth every dollar!
