Browning Superposed Broadway Trap

It easy to do a Google search but unfortunately 98% of the info found fit firearms comes from the USA. Our gun culture and market is totally different than theirs. The Winchester Model 12 is a good comparison...sold as junk here but as a premium there.

Meant to comment on that but forgot. Google searches for canadian prices send us to gunnutz.

What was it that PT Barnum once said..."There is a fool born every minute" and"A fool and his money are easily separated."
The EE is another form on consumerism, nothing more nothing less.
This thread reminds me of a guy selling his .50 Cal single shot at the two day gun show in Coquitlam.
He didnt have a price on it and there where a few interested parties too...
He never sold it in the three years I seen him there ,but he sure liked talking about it.
The Op has a price is the only difference I see.
Nice Gun if someone wants a Browning Broadway.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting you but you say that like there is something wrong with hoping our item is worth more than we think. Would anyone ever hope it was worth less? What we do with the info is another matter.

You are misrepresenting my intent...

If someone comes on with a valuation question, an excellent description and good pictures, who is seeking to "fairly" price an item, that is one thing. But when they come here asking for valuation, with poor or misleading descriptions and poor or no photographs and then ignore the provided information or manipulate it to "price gouge" OR are just using the thread to generate promotion or interest for an item being sold (in the discussion forum, rather than where it should be, in the EE)... I have no time or use for that.

NOTE; I am not speaking to the OP here or referring to his item...

This is a general opinion on the topic.

HC, Did not mean to misrepresent your intent. Was seeking some version of clarification. That's why I started by saying maybe...

Frankly I value these discussions because over time, I think they help members work with EE in a better way.

I owned two at one time. The first was a Lightning Grade, long tang which was about 98%, 30" barrels and hard Browning case. I sold it for $1100 U.S to a fellow in Modesto, California and at that time I got .47 cents on the dollar in conversion so I did well on it. The other was a 30" barrel version as well which had one box of shells fired through it. Came with a hard Browning case. It was won in Germany at a gun club fundraiser by a friend of a friend posted there with the RCAF. It was as NIB as you could get and was a limited edition European gun called a John Moses 50th Special. It was #399/750 comemmerating 50 years of the superposed(1932-1982). I sold it around the same time as the Lightning to a fellow in Wyoming for $3500 U.S.

That's a beautiful gun. If its a 1973 you are safe it will not be a salt wood gun. I disagree with some previous post.....the fact that you have all paper work and box will add value.

I never said the box would not increase the value, I said I could care less about the box because I shoot my guns!

I'm sure the OP will sell it eventually , just how much he is willing to settle on is him.
I recall another shotgun that was here and on another forum last year and the owner asked for an evaluation but argued about the price he was given and said it was far too low.
He sold it about 4 months later for exactly what we had suggested .

However that does not mean the members here are 100% right.

So what's your number? How much do you think it is worth?

Cat.....agreed. I as well have a several O/U (mostly Browning) and I shoot them all, and hunt with them they are not safe queens. Just saying to me as a buyer the original packaging and paperwork is a better sale. It shows that someone cared for it.
Claybuster ......my evaluation of the price is really irrelevant .......but....I have a 1971 Broadway lightning (not a salty) with beauty walnut English stock 12G with 26.5" barrels in a modern faux leather hard case that I think is worth at least $2000 ......($2500 for insurance value). But I don't usually sell my Browning's.....lol.......just my 2cents.......
