Well Folks, I got a "as new" Browning T-Bolt Sporter as part of a trade deal and since I didn't have a decent bolt .22, I decided to hold onto it. I ordered a 4.5X 14 Burris Timberline compact for it and it made one nice combination. Yesterday, I sighted it in at the range first at 25M with Federal bulk ammo -- 2 two targets with basically one hole groups (5 shot each) with 1 flyer per group. Then I went to 1 five shot and 1 10 shot group again at 25M with Lapua "Standard +" again, 1 hole group with no flyers. Went out to 50M with the Lapua with two 5 shot groups under 1/2 inch. Very impressed with the accuracy of this light rifle. Didn't go to 100 because it would be too much of a challenge for my ageing eyes.
The Timberline is a great little scope -- very bright for a 32mm -- clear edge to edge with no distortion at various power settings. As you can tell, I am impressed with this set up --nice piece of kit! Maybe I'll get out and hunt some of those long eared white critters after grouse season, if the snows hold off.
