I guess it would be safe to type.............if you have owned an older one or any experience with one,
the new ones aren't going to work fur yer taste buds.

That last one on the EE for $550 I believe to be a decent buy.
Too much on my plate right now to dive into it.

Still about half the price of an new manufacture rifle.

As mentioned, Salt cured wood was used by Browning for stocks, for a few years. It can really be a problem and not just on t bolts. I've seen some rifles that look new, until you pull the wood from them and they are all pitted and ugly.

Back in the day, I used to cover the inside of the stocks on those suspected of having salt cured wood with a skim coat of AcraGlas. Browning used a high gloss, polymer to finish/seal their stocks and this was supposed to protect the metal from any salt residues leeching out of the wood. Didn't always work well and some of the stocks were never sealed.
