Browning Trombone 22 Belgium

We just hashed this out on a recent thread.

General consensus seems to be asking $600 and open to offers seems to be the going rate.

150,000 were built between 1922 and 1974, they are not terribly sought after and most of us who own them had them passed down to us, so the value is far more sentimental than anything else. The early models (without the dovetail on the receiver) were susceptible to cracking stocks, so a 1920's model has that knock against it.

If I was "in the market" for one I would be hard pressed to pay more than 400 bucks for one in excellent shape - the same price I paid for my (new) Henry pump 22 which is every bit as finely built - these weren't even built for the North American market, it was just a way for Browning to sell guns (that they were getting a bit of a cut on) outside of North America.

Bought it the year before last before they went up in price, back when you could still get a Golden Boy for just on 525 bucks.

I sell guns but didn't even bring in any Henry's this year (or at the mid-point last year either).

They put their price up in 2015 and again in 2016 "from factory". And now that the dollar is tanked my same rifle (H003) sells for a touch over 700 bucks - hard to swallow when we were selling them for $409 two years back.

Every Henry model is now "wholesaling" for somewhat more than what our "on the shelf price" was for all of 2015. Even without our 75 cent dollar, their prices went up a fair bit.
