Browning vs Beretta

I have no idea, their name doesn't even come up in competition guns discussions...

Well you made the statement but now you don't have any idea..... Ok.
No one so far has claimed them to be competition quality guns but then true competition quality guns such as Perazzi, Kreighoff, Kolar, Dt-11, etc don't sell for FAIR prices either, I'd have thought that you would have known that. There's lots of "lesser" quality guns on the market that are good guns but still are not competition quality.

The thing that gets me is that there are two or three of you guys saying that the quality of FAIR guns is questionable but none of you so far have given any examples of the poor quality. No one but Stubblejumper and I have even claimed to have owned one and neither of us are bashing them, at least Stubblejumper isn't yet anyhow. If you guys have some first hand bad experience with these guns, ( I'd even settle for a second hand story at this point) then I'd like to hear the stories but so far, none of you have any credibility in your claims of poor quality!

FAIR has a good reputation for their rebranded gun in the US, unlike the entry level rebranded Fausti sold by Walmart and others.
Most people seem to like their Milano, Verona or Cortona guns.

I own a few over unders over the years, I pieced together a rem 870 wingmaster 30in bbl full vent. and get 23-to 25 straight easily with my 250.00 dollar gun, the guys with the expensive guns, don't say much. I am not the bragging type. but it is what it is.

I’ve owned a FAIR for awhile. No complaints for what it was. Never gave me a single issue with a few thousand rounds I’ve put through it.

I think you accidentally replied to the wrong post. This is a Browning vs Beretta post that has gone off the rails into a debate about FAIR shotguns and a dealer that upset some people.

Good shooting by the way. I like 870’s as well.

I didn't keep mine long, every time I used it, I was reminded of the shyster that sold it to me. I also was thinking that if there was an issue, I would get nowhere with warranty.

Second largest maker in Italy - but what does that really mean? I simply stated the size of the factory does not indicate the level of quality.

Our Cogswell and Harrison guns are made by FAIR.

Some of those have some nice wood. They look to be quite a bit nicer than my Milano with similar checkering but not as nice as my Jubilee. They are getting very close to a Silver Pigeon in pricing so that could make for a tough sale in spite of the nicer wood and value.

Well, I didn’t read through all the posts but a recent fan of the CXS. Picked one up in a trade with 32” barrels adjustable comb , superb gun for the money. I’ve always found the Berettas have to much drop at the comb for my liking and the adjustable comb of the CXS is a nice feature. Shoot a Guerini Evo Sporting mostly for Sporting and the CXS is a nice backup and go to Skeet gun.

I shot Browning for much of my life because they typically have more drop at comb than Beretta. The Beretta shotguns typically don't have enough drop at comb for me.

Looks a lot like the Premier EM, but about 400 to 500$ more.
Did i miss something?
But i Do agree with the general consensus, If Prophet River where to distribute FAIR, the number of their guns around would increase immensely, Kinda like when you started carrying Huglu, I had never seen one, then you guys started carrying them and all of a sudden there are a bunch around my local club, all acquired at Prophet River.

Anyways, back to the original question, I don't believe there is a wrong choice, loads of parts available for either should you ever wear one out. Both will last well into 100k + shells. I find Beretta to shoot a little more flat then the Browning, for me anyway.

Haven’t read all the posts in this forum so forgive me if someone else has already said this: Browning stocks have no cast (straight stocks whereas Berettas are cast left or right. This tells me that the Browning is more ambidextrous while the Beretta is a better fit (generally speaking). Anecdotally, a local gunsmith said he never sees Berettas in his shop for repairs.
