I love BLR's for sure, but if you are looking for a 223, I'd take the X-bolt. In fact, I once had a BLR 223, I bought it just cuz it was there and I was there.

Suggest that you try a BLR before you buy, the trigger is on the heavy side and not adjustable. Go X-Bolt if the choice is between the two.

Should be online dealers with both available although the BLR in .223 is harder to find.

Yeah, the BLR is a good platform for some things, but a varmint rifle ain't one of those things.

I got a good deal on a BLR in 223, I passed it on to another as I did not like it.
