Hi folks!

In the search for a rifle for my soon-to-be-12 year old daughter to use as her first deer rifle, I could not resist any longer and picked up a Browning X-Bolt Micro Midas in .243 for her to try. This past weekend we got out for her first outing with the rifle and made a video of the whole adventure:


The whole story is posted in her sticky within the hunting forum, however she's worried no one will see it over there...:)

That's awesome! Great to see time well spent with your daughter, her interest in firearms/shooting/hunting will keep her on the right track and out of trouble. In my line of work, I love to see this kind of parenting :cool: though sadly in my experience it isn't all that common.
 
Get her reloading and she will be all set.All three of my sons were shooting at early stages in their lives and and I was blessed with three great kids.Two are engineers and one is a CBSA officer.We still go to the range together on occasion and always have fun shooting.
 
That is absolutely awesome Brobee...I am sure you are very proud.. awesome memories for you and your daughter.

Julia,.. that was some excellent shooting on that rabbit and targets, and that stew you made looked delicious,...you've sure got an awesome dad, plus he's got excellent taste in rifles.. that little X-Bolt is one of the best.
 
That was the best post ever, great shooting and such a well spoken young lady and not afraid to eat what she harvests, great job young lady, your parents must be very proud of you,hell I am proud of you and I do not even know you
 
Friggin awesome video! That is a monster rabbit. Iam going to show this to my 13 yr old son who doesn't show too much interest in shooting his. 243. Hey Brobee, have you had a chance to use that neat little. 243 on any deer yet?
