Browning xbolt SS 7 rem value??? With an issue.

I got a Browning Xbolt SS 7 rem and it has one of the threaded , scope mount holes,stripped.

I'm using an ATRS base,currently.

Gun has about 200 rnds through it.
It was bought in 2018 and has an adjustable trigger.

Any help with a value would be appreciated.

Most gunsmiths charge $25 per hole, Xbolt has 8 of them. It will be costly to go to 6/48 oversized on all 8, but that's what I would do if it was my rifle.
 
Brownells offers an oversized -48 tap which will clean up stripped 6-48 holes. The screws can be ordered with it. Easy repair - just have to keep the replacement screw paired with the particular hole.
Can't see that a repair like this would affect the value very much.
 
The factory screws are a bit short.

Often part of the hole strips due to that too short of a screw... often just a longer screw in that hole works fine.... it only needs 3 of the 4 screws to hold it securely anyway.

I would suggest running a bottoming tap in the four holes and using longer screws... make sure none bottom out.
 
My friend ran a Tap through it. Its definitely done for.
I must have put the longer back screw in by accident maybe?
And it bottomed out?

I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a load for this,as well.
Thought it might have something to do with the missing screw.
Its flinging bullets everywhere.
Best ove got is about 2 moa. And that's not even repeatable.
3 different bullets and two different powders.
Two different scopes.
Minox ZA5 3-15
Leupold vx5 hd 3-15
2 might cluster,3 will go 2 inches right,4 will go 2 inches left and 5 might go back closer to the cluster.

Loading one at a time,or using the mag.it dont matter

it is an excellent invention that slightly over size tap and screw ... one is useless without the other so get a few extra screws in that size ...

I just went thru this with a new condition xbolt in 6.5CM - its a design flaw by Browning in their xbolts, certainly not an easy mounting system, they dont need 8 holes to secure a base or bases on a hunting rifle.!

They will work - but you need to know about the cross threading and breaking screws issues ahead of time, be careful when mounting. Unfortunately for me the damage was already done by previous owner.

2 Leupold base screw tips broke on the way out of mine when I removed the Leupold bases. I bought the gun with the bases mounted - I dont use them. The screws were not tight but were all cross threaded going in! I'd lucky - I was able to clean up all the existing holes in the receiver with a tap afterwards.

The two front screw holes of the front base have the very tips of the Leupold screws in them, no sense fixing from there- too costly, but I did clean the holes out and made two new shorter screws - the correct length for these holes, for the new Talley Pictanny Rail. That's what I use and it wont be removed in future. I only had to Easyout one screw.....where the screw head broke taking one screw out ... the importance of not cross threading FFS.

This can be costly, people not careful when mounting bases onto xbolts usually cross thread screws. Brownells is the easiest and most cost effective fix. Or, dont get an xbolt! I only got this for a good deal - at the time. I have way better rifles!

I was lucky to fix mine and cost effective. Heres a few pics of my torment. I was lucky to make a save here.......

While I haven’t had to deal with the screw issue, I do think that 3 screws is more than enough. Just need to disclose this and find a buyer that feels the same. I have seen some regular rifles switching to one piece base/rail when 1 of the 4 screws is stripped
