BRS-99 question

I have the older style brs, and I'd love either the laser, or the flash light just to get rid of the man hole cover at the end of the grip, where can you buy both? I have searched it, and I keep coming up with foreign suppliers.

Just out of curiosity, what if you bought a NR BRS-99, could you buy the shorter barrel as well? From what I understand the rifle will only be restricted once the shorter barrel is attached to it. Is the barrel by itself restricted? Of course once you put the shorter barrel on, you would notify the proper authorities, but suppose you own the barrel but never put it on?

Also, I'm curious to know whether other mags would be possible to use in this, such as Glock mags.

The barrel by itself isn't a regulated piece - so you can have it without any issues. As you stated, the CFO needs to be notified once the barrel length has been changed.

And no, unfortunately Glock mags can't be used.

I played with a NR one today at That Hunting and Fishing Store in Richmond...these things are real beauties. Pick one up if you can.

Uzi mags might work with a bit of monkeying around, I know for a fact 9mm AR mags will not work.

Uzi mags will not work, BRS mags have a channel on one side, Uzi mags are smooth all around. Have tried the Uzi.

I'm hoping they can be massaged to fit and work. I have a couple that I'm working on right now. It's a real PITA but hopefully I can get them to fit and work. Otherwise I just wasted $200 on " BRS " mags that turned out to be UZI mags.

I'm almost certan we will see BRS mags show up at some point. The platform has been around a long time. It seems everything happens in cycles with firearms and such. It's difficult to be ultra pateint and wait for the next cycle to happen especially on foreign manufactures. I'm confidenent it's just a matter of time. I need a pile of mags too. and don't even mention the FAMAE 9mm mags....

Tec-9, Swedish, Cobray mags are wider at the back than front- so no. It would be cool to mod an Uzi grip to attach to the BRS.
