I've been looking into 9mm Carbines lately and was curious what Gun Nuters think about these semi-auto carbines?

I have a couple CZ 858's, a Type 81 and a 223 rifle and I am currently in the market for a 9mm Carbine.

Anyone have any recommendations as to what Pistol caliber pseudo Sub-gun I should add to the collection?

Which is most reliable? Most Accurate? Most User friendly?

Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences?

Any other Pistol Caliber Recommendations?

CX4 has some serious stuff going on. It has never skipped a beat, is fully ambidextrous, has a real nice control lay out, compact design that is comparable to a bullpup and is accurate. Only downside is some people think it looks like a space gun ;)

The Beretta Definitely looks like a Star Wars Blaster in some configurations. And the BRS-99 is probably what I'm leaning towards buying, however they appear to be sold out from most dealers i've seen.

Does the BRS-99 have a Straight stock or a Angled down stock? I've seen some that have a down-ward angled stock and some that have a straight stock? Anyone confirm the stock angle?

Although the ASR is incredibly accurate, point able, compact and has good ergos...... forget about owning one. Horribly unreliable guns PERIOD. Ive yet to see one run more than 10 mags without jamming.

Absolutely love my JR carbine. reliable, accurate, AR ergos.... my only complaint is it has no bolt hold open, and it isnt compact, its basically a full sized 9mm AR 15.

The CX4 seems like a real winner if u can get past the looks, plastic feel, and fish like handling. It wasnt my cup of tea when i shot one.

On the horizon we have the Raven 9, and the FX9, both look extremely promising. But they may be a few more years before u see them on the shelves.

Keep in mind these only hold 5 rounds......

Ive got 2 CX4 in 9mm and a Vector in 45acp

If you want non restricted, avoid the KV unless you won't be carrying it anywhere. It's much more bulky, longer and heavier than the CX4.

I can't Say enough good things about the Berettas. Mine have huge round counts and are still accurate and reliable. Although they both got the SP trigger/hammer upgrade.

Don't forget the B&T Tp9. It is a ###y little sub. Out of those. The brs99 is the only one i have owned. Although i put a fair amount of rounds down the tube of the cx4. It gets the vote for me. But the brs is pretty sweet as well.

I personally own examples of the:

- BRS-99
- Rock River LAR9 (9mm AR carbine)
- KRISS Vector 9mm Gen 2
- B&T TP9
- CZ Scorpion EVO 3

I also own and used to be able to legally discharge my HK MP5, FN Uzi, CAL C1 (Sterling) SMG, STEN Mk 2, and several other Submachinegun designs. Of all of the above designs, I would have to say that for sheer dollar value and shooting fun the CZ Scorpion EVO is difficult to beat. Also worth considering is any 9mm AR Carbine that accepts Colt-pattern magazines, as these are still available in 10 rds capacity. The KRISS is quirky but fun, and also accepts 10 rd Glock mags.

Personally, I would avoid any 9mm carbine that is not directly evolved from a military Submachinegun. Purely civilian firearms such as the ASR and the JR Carbine tend to be fussy, overly complicated anď/or difficult to strip and assemble. If money is an issue, just go with the Scorpion EVO and never have to look back!

Another vote for the cx4. I picked up a used one about 5 years ago and it has never missed a beat. It has been perfect so far. The JR carbine I had was nothing but problems and really fussy.

BRS-99 the new ones have straight stock good for optics

Angled stock better for irons.

BRS-99... wish I had two one angled one straight. Built like a tank, never fails

Video or it never happened I'm afraid.

I’ve never videotaped myself shooting for any reason. Not the social media selfie type. You’ll have to just take my Word, or not. Makes no difference to me. I didn’t buy two just because I am a masochist. I’m in the market for a third when the prioritized budget allows.

As to the ‘ease of takedown’ comment from another poster goes, military weapons hardly hold the monopoly on that!
