A friend made some rudimentary stock inserts for his 99, and I helped by welding an extention to the barrel nut. Now, I need to add some picatinny rail to that extention for him so that he can mount a scout scope or red dot.
Is that a fake can or some kinda funky bull barrel?

Its prohib in Canada, unless you have a liscence from the gov't you can not fire a firearm from an electronic device or remotely. The reason behind the prohibing is that you can make a full auto from any semi auto by using an electronic trigger. Its bull but it is part of our laws.
One reason companies might be bringing in the firearms as carbines and not pistols, the pistol versions maybe listed as prohib. Likely its easier to get them past the cfc that way. You could send an email to the importer to find out.

Honestly its a really cool gun to look at but functionally its the same as a pistol and you can probably get better pistols for the price.
If you have the money and think its really cool go for it but can think about better ways of spending 1k.
