I have recently acquired this .22 rifle and was wondering if any of you guys have any info on it such as date of manufacture and the meaning of symbols stamped into the rifle.

Post pictures of the rifle, especially the area on the barrel where it joins the receiver. This is where date stamps are often located.

Yup. The rifleman.org site has great info about the various models, but the date codes and some other stuff like that is covered pretty well on the rimfirecentral site.

The stamps are mostly proof marks, mainly the BV, BP, BN under their respective crowns. Some will be factory inspection marks, and there may or may not be a date code to be found at all, so you are pretty much stuck if there are not. Not like it really matters, as the actual condition sets the value, while the age is simply another data point.
