Hey guys,

I have a friend who has one of these guns, and is having issues with rounds not firing. He says it will fire like every 2nd or 3rd round only. He believes it is the bolt spring.
Anybody know where to get one? Also i am not seeing any place to get brass for it either. Nothing in the EE, Prophet River has nothing listed for it either brass wise.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Has he stripped and cleaned the bolt and firing pin area? They get gunked up pretty easily and may just need a thorough scrubbing. Brass should be available all over, try Mystic Precision and Budget Shooter Supply.

They are not very good rifles. Send it to me. ;)

Seriously, like mmattockx advised, just take the bolt apart and give it a good cleaning. Almost certain that will remedy the problem.

I have plenty of brass. PM me if he cannot find any.

PM sent Why not.
He says he has stripped the bolt, and he "streched the spring a bit".:p to get it to hopefully work.

He said there was noting foul in there, and it looked really clean, with a light coat of oil.

Is there somewhere to find said spring?
thanks guys.

If you've insured the bolt body, striker, firing pin, and spring are all clean, measure the firing pin protrusion with the striker down. It should probably be in the range of .130" or so. Examine and measure the fired brass to determine if there are any abnormalities or if there is unusual case stretch. Get the headspace of the rifle checked if its suspect. If he's using CCI primers, switch to Winchester or Federal, the hard cups of the CCI sometimes result in ignition problems in guns with light firing pin strikes.

You can get 7X57 brass from Higginson Powder and from Tradex whose banner appears above.

you shold be able to find 7x57 brass through a few of the bigger site sponsors listed above...where are you located? I'm working in middle Alberta right now and was surprised to see a whole pile of 7x57 loaded ammo sitting on a small town hardware store shelf....PM if you want to know more

Check the impression left on the primer of those that failed to fire.
Always check your bore, everytime, on fail to fire rounds!
Are they firing when hit a second time?
