BSA Hunter Action value?

I just opened an old ammo can and found some projects I forgot about over 20 years ago.


A BSA Hunter with a 223 bolt face. This is a mini-Mauser action. Firing pin assembly is missing. Might be in a box somewhere. I have a complete rifle and never realized how much action is below the waterline. It has a flat botton, which I really like for bedding and stability. I guess that is why I got the action in the first place. Any suggestion of fair price?

I'd sell the Rem as a package. You don't hear a lot of guys clamouring for a spare Remington bolt. Unless you could flog it to a 'smith somewhere I would see a lot of BTTs in your future.

That BSA is a beast. Hard to believe such a monster action was used with such a puny cartridge. They are great actions though. Any idea where the safety went?

What would you need to get for the rem action with both bolts? Is the second bolt complete? PM me with details if you would.

I'm not familiar with the BSA- it almost looks like a l461 up front. How big is the load/ejection port? I'm guessing its a repeater, but can't tell form the pic. Have you got a trigger or bottom metal for it?

The BSA is a repeater, but all I have is what you see. It is missing the firing pin assembly, too. It might be in the junk box.

I have run into a problem with these actions. They are not mine. I called the feds to get the cert numbers and find they are still registered to the original owner. But he died some time ago and I don't get along with his widow.

Ouch. I guess that's the flaw in the "borrowing" theory. Hope you get it sorted out.
