a friend was at an estate sale last spring and bought a 310 cadet and informed me I now owed him 400 and some shipping sight unseen .Received it shortly after and it is complete even sight protector and no pits or rust .The only visible flaw was the butt soaked up water and split /have a spare so replaced it

Was looking it over again in midd Jan ,the bore being near pristine 1x18" twist ,did a chamber cast and chamber is still original so decided to load for it .

Ordered up the RCBS mold for it after measuring the cast .321 and mold .323 ,looked for some brass and Bertram is cost prohibitive .So 32-20 cut to length works and rim thickness is good

worked up a 1200 FPS load as that was the general consensus of what it should run and fired off a few rounds into a gatorade cap at 20 yards grouped nice

Using 32-20 dies to load with and a 303 Lee FCD with a stem to get the correct level to crimp ,only had to get a bullet mold (Amazon of all places)

What is it chambered for? I want to get something like this for plinking, but the ones I've seen on the EE are far more expensive than what you paid!

John found it at an estate in Cranbrook and he knows I project them and bought for the asking price as it had the split water damaged stock .He was in the right place and time as every thing was priced to sell as widdow was going to retirement village.

chambered in the original 310 cadet Australian cartridge

Nice little rifles. I have one Australian marked. I believe the original was 310-12-120 marked on the barrel. Mine has been relined and chambered in 32-20. Mine is stamped on the stock and action Common Wealth of Australia. Same rear site. The front has been changed. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Nice find! Wish I had more friends like that!

Great to see you keeping it in the original chambering too. Not a terrible one to create components for but crimping heeled bullet cartridges can sometimes be a bit of a challenge.

this still has the barley corn sight ,just a sight protector makes it look like a tunnel sight ,it is very complete but the leather sling is a bit fragile not sure what to do with it yet .
