Could almost be called the "Standard," in small bore sporting rifle competitions, at one time.
Sure looks in good shape.

Condition,condition, condition

Did I mention Condition, and this rifle appears to be in fantastic condition. This gun is worth one heck of a lot more than $400.00, not sure exactly how much more, perhaps double, maybe more. FS

its hard to say...really. it came along with 12 other rifles that I bought from a guy who was not using them any more. I gave him 1 lump sum, but if I remember correctly in coming up with a figure I believe I put a $200-$300 value on that rifle. I am probably going to sell it and am trying to narrow down value.

You should expect to get around $500 for it (actual price received, not advertised price) if it is original and complete. Above $500 and it will be slow to sell. At $700 it will likely have a couple of pages of BTTs.

But then again, I could be wrong.

Tradex has one for sale for $325, it doesn't have the lyman globe ($20) or the target tang sight ($75). Probably get $450-$500 for it in the EE.

Re: value of this firearm,I recently had the opportunity to purchase a BSA Martini in fine condition minus the rear target sight for $300.00 CDN.,now searching the web I found an American dealer who has a similiar unit for 595.00 U.S. funds

I had the opportunity to purchase a BSA Martini very similar to the one shown. The gun was in very fine condition and totally complete, the asking price was $300.00 CDN.funds.Now,this gun did not have the rear target sight, but did include a spare barrel.Having completed some research on-line I did locate a U.S.dealer with a similar unit for 595.00 U.S.funds.I hope this might be a help

This looks like a refinish job on the stock, the insert is missing,
is the blueing original or reblued, can you tell the difference?
The rear site is not the factory one.
Refinish make difference ,30-40% on steel, not so much on the wood.
I have sold some of these over the years in the 250.oo to
400.oo mark , thought it has been a will.
Looking at U.S. asking prices for used gun does not give you a
canadian price up here. P.S , Lookin at the picture again, I could be wrong about the rear
sight . Is there a hole for the cleaning rod?

There were two Martini's at the last Edmonton Gun Show, priced in the high 500's. AFAIK, the seller still has both.

If you can hook up with the right guy, they are worth more. Find the right guy, or wait a long time for him to come along...

FWIW there was a BSA No.8 sight in medium condition there, with a price tag of $125 on it. He still has that, too, AFAIK.

The No.8 has a good rep.

Cheers

The BSA

Nice.
It appears the arsenal medallion is missing and has a sight groove been filed in the nockform?
Both detract from an original.
