I got this BSA rifle and I am confused as to what model it is. the serial number is 3B###. It has a full length mauser extractor. Caliber is .308. It has no stars on the bolt or anything that says majestic. The safety is on the bolt. It has a swelling on the barrel where the rear sight should be, but there is no rear sight. Instead it has a parker hale PH6EH adjustable peep. It has no swell on the foregrip wood. It has the integral dovetail scope mount with only one indent for the rear ring stud, and no indent for a front ring stud.

What rifle have I got? Is it a "hunter" model?????

The proofmark should tell what year it was made.

Post a pic or a very good description of the letters / numbers around the "X" where the proof pressure in TONS per Squares Inches is stamped.

And, no, they did not come with the PH sight, but a lot of them were fitted with it before leaving the store, so they are quite common.
