hey guys, im looking for opinions on bsa brand scopes. my buddy has one on his .17 and i jus bought one for my .22. its a variable zoom that goes to 18x and its surprisingly clear for a cheaper scope. i know on the lower caliber rifles there isnt much to worry about with them getting shaken up and failing, but im contemplating getting one for my r700 in 30.06 and im curious what you guys would say about their quality, ability to hold zero, etc etc. right now im using a variable zoom tasco that goes to 24x. it holds zero, changing from my 100 - 200 - 100 y settings it zeros out perfectly every time, but the class leaves little to be desired. at the time i needed a scope with a bit more zoom to hit out to 200y with and to be able to see my hits but now im ready to get something with a bit more clarity. if i can get one of these guys for a decent price itll save me from spending the money on a big expensive unit right now until i put away a bit more money for one. all the reviews i saw online were positive for these things but i didnt see much review for the larger calibers.

They are on the same level of quality as top of the line Zeiss, Leica, Swarovski, etc. for a fraction of the price............................That what you wanted to hear?

I haven't shot through a BSA scope yet but on rimfirecentral they really enjoy the sweet series BSA scopes. The catch is like most things cheap there is going to be a higher % of people with duds. You take a chance when you buy cheaper scopes.
For a cheap but good scope for your 06 Nikon line called Buckmaster come in a 4-12 or a 6-18 decent quality for the money.

I have a Sweet 17 in 6-18, and it's decent in ideal conditions (bright). As soon as the light level drops though, it gets very dark very quick.
For sub $100 though, it makes a cheap little spotting scope on sunny days, and is acceptable for close range rimfire shooting with the relatively short range ability of the AO (~15 yards).
