Well, I was shooting on saturday, accurate as usual, but when I worked the action as I pulled the bolt back it pulled right out the back of the receiver. I took a look and noticed it was only the back half of the bolt. There is a retaining pin in there that locks the two halves together but it was lost or broken or something.

How hard is it to get these parts and what should I expect from a smith when fixing it price wise?

Everything but the pin holding the two bolt halves together looks to be there, the spring is still in place.

Thank

BSA parts will be almost impossible to find here in Canada. My only success has been with John Knibbs International in Birmingham, England.
I have their phone number as 011 44 1675 481006.
Best of luck. David.

Perhapse I should have been more specific when I said BSA parts were almost impossible to find here in Canada, I should have stated that parts for the supersport 10 would be hard to find, hence the U.K. conection.
If memory serves me correctly there is a sleeve inside the bolt of these guns that is epoxy glued inplace during factory assembly and over years of use the epoxy can deteriorate, perhapse this is all that is wrong with your gun. David.

It is the supersport 5, the bolt is fine, the pin just blew out and is lost. Is there anything that special about this pin that holds the two parts together? I can go into the machine shop and make a pin.
Does anyone have a breakdown of the supersport 5 bolt so I can make sure everything is there.

Thanks

You do not need to go to a machine shop, small pins, rivits, etc can be made with an electric drill and a file. It the way the good old boys did it years ago.
