I have an opportunity to pick one of these rifles up from an estate sale. Price is favorable, and it is in pretty decent shape.
Just wondered if anyone has one or has used one.
I would like to hear any input regarding these BSA 22's. Thanks, Eagleye.

I'm not familiar with the BSA Supersport but from the pics I found on the web it appears to be similar to the BSA Century. If I recall this was designed as an entry level target rifle. I know of a dealer in the UK who has (had?) one available for around 100 pound sterling, about $160.00 Cdn$.

For more info Google BSA rimfire rifles.

Pics I found attached.

Information is hard to come by on these it seems, and mags are even harder. If it comes with a magazine in good condition, then I would buy it. If not, you would have a hard time finding one as they are specific to the supersport model.

The one I have has a cheek plate on the stock and a heavier barrel, I would be interested to know if this is common with all of them or not. It also has an adjustable trigger that I find more consistent than some timney's I have owned.

The only thing I did not like was that there is only one action screw. It attaches to a lug that is cut into a dovetail in the barrel. I ended up having mine pillar bedded with another action screw installed into the tang area.
How much is it going for, if you don't mind me asking?

Owned one several years ago in excellent condition that had Parker Hale target sights with the PH sight insert holder and inserts. Believed I paid around $250.00 for it.

Nice guns but found it very light and would suggest more of a youth gun. Trigger was adjustable and quite accurate.

There are magazines every now and then, I took two over to a friend in Oregon last year, but they were £35 EACH.

If anyone here is short of one, I can start my local dealer looking.

These rifles were popular for use in the Dominion Marksmen program supported by CIL years ago. They were well thought of for use in the sporting rifle category. If one is fitted with aperture front and rear sights, in all likelihood it was used in competition.
Like all firearms that have been out of production for years, and were never all that common to begin with, getting replacement parts is going to be a bit of an adventure.
