I just picked up a decent BT 99 for a steal of a price , and i am just trying to put a year of manufacture to it , now i have gone to numerous sites explaing how to age them but my serial number is just all numbers and no letters , is there another place to look for a serial number ?? any help would be appreciated

There should be at least one letter in the serial number, I believe they were first manufactured in 1969, and until around 1976, had the letter "D" after the first 4 digits.

Really?, The 1969-1976 dates were the years that the single letter was used in the serial number. I don't believe the intent of that post was to have anyone think that was the end of the line for the BT.
But thanks for sharing your wealth of information, I was wondering how I could explain the 4 BT-99's I have that were built in the 1980's.
