Bubba is a saint compared to me!!

Oh, see, I don't think alot of us realised you deactivated it so you could buy it - thought you already owned it and deactivated.

Suddenly that makes FAR more sense. Its still sad, but reasonable.

True justice could only be met by:

3) the legislated requirement for demilling of every liberal's prized bmw.

I'd surely settle for making them watch their Beamer get shot to bits on a celebratory CGN community .50 cal shoot. That would be one of those "Kodak moments" you read about...

ROFL I just blew my morning coffee out my nose reading this:D

Better in a box of Cosmoline, buried in the woods IMHO...GPS is your friend. :D (Of course I'm not condoning anything illegal)
i am sure if the government had any clue the prized beauties my grandfather took down that route before he passed they'd be in a panic but ya think he would have told me where to start looking for them at least lol

Damn, I wanted that thing...

If there was any sense in this country it should have been converted from 12(2) to 12(3) class like someone can do with prohib pistols

No wait...If there was any sense the only gun law would be "dont shoot your own foot off"

One question WHY???

Unfortunately there's no way to register that gun...cut off in 1977 wasn't it? If you didn't have one continously since then, you were out of luck. I know how you feel, it's a crime, but not Stencollector's fault. Blame Trudeau.

Cause it was available. It had been for sale for a while, and as there didn't seem to be any 12.2 owners lined up to buy it, I decided to get it.

Don't for a minute think that if the Liberals were successful in banning and confiscating handguns, that they were going to leave any of the restricted/prohibited smgs and longarms available. And don't think that the Liberals will never be back.....we all thought the conservatives were forever dead after the Mulroney years.
Hopefully by the time they ever do return to power, we'll be a stronger force to be reckoned with. But whatever happens, I'll have another little piece of history saved (albeit neutered).

Could you post some closeup pics, showing all detail? Better than nothing...not a common gun to get a look at.

I was there and saw the horror first hand:eek: But only for a short time as I had to leave...couldn't bear to watch:(
I stepped outside the butcher shop and consoled my 1919A4 that was set up on my tailgate....I reasurred her that I would never let the scary man with the drill and welder near her;)

Russ...

Deactivated

FWIW:

It's a sad day when anything is dewatted. But, like the man said, it will look great on display. I burned my thumb years ago closing the bipod after a Section attack on one of those fine things. Today I think my thumb just started throbbing again.........

Thats right. I had a dealer transfer it to his inventory, and it was deactivated at his premises.
Trust me, if there was a way I could have owned it live, I would have done it.

I'll post more photos in a day or two.

so do you de register this or reregister as a dewat???
The dealer (on who's inventory it is listed on) has it de-registered. It is now a (expensive and historical) paperweight, which is no longer subject to registration, safe storeage, display, or transportation regulations. It can be sold to anyone, even without a firearms liscence.

As the 12.2 owners start to reach the later stages of their life, we are going to see a lot more of these treasures coming out of the woodwork. Since they can no longer be converted to semi auto and re-registered in the 12.3 class, and the museums never have a dime to spend on artifacts (they want them given to them for free, or at best a tax receipt), the same fate awaits many hundreds or thousands of other 12.2 guns. And in another 20-30 years, we'll see the same thing happening with the 12.3-12.5 guns. That is, unless, in the interest of public safety and social order, the government takes them away first.
